TÜRKÇE

Eşyaları toplanmış bir eve benziyordun yürürken
Dünyayı avuç avuç doldurmuştun cebine, yaşantını da
Gölgen gençliğini anımsatıyordu herkese
Bilirdin yine de Tanrısız ölünmeyeceğini
Gecemiz ne çok mezarlıktı
Ne çok Meryem
Yaşamak için saksıya koymuştun gözlerini
Şehir, limon ekşisi zamanın, güneş suskun
Bir buluta sarılmıştın korkudan
Yarım asırlık küllükleri doğurmuş ağzın
Nasıl da yutuyordu sabahı
Ayakkabılarından utanır mıydı yol, utanmıştı
Geride acının kamburu kalmış izleğiyle
Eşyaları toplanmış bir eve benziyordun yürürken

Hatırasızlığın yüzü görünmüştü.

Translated with the author’s approval by Ege Dündar

You resembled a home with its furniture packed up,
You had the world in hand fulls stuffed in your pockets, and your life
Your shadow reminded everyone of your youth
You knew still there is no dying without a god
Our night was neither much of a cemetery
Nor Mother Mary,
You had placed your eyes in a pot to survive.
The city belonged to time’s bitter lemon, the sun reticent
You had cuddled to a cloud out of fear
Your mouth had given birth to half a century old ashtrays
How it swallowed up the morning
Could a path be ashamed of your shoes, it was
Leaving threads of pain’s hunchback behind
You resembled a house with its furniture packed up
The lack of reminiscence was in sight
